Louis Gino Perri has lived in the city of Dearborn, Michigan his entire life. He graduated with a Masters Degree and a teaching certificate from Eastern Michigan University. He taught for 37 years in both private and public schools, and gained recognition for producing nationally acclaimed, award-winning high school yearbooks. In 2002, his yearbook at Seaholm High School in Birmingham, Michigan was inducted into the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association Hall of Fame for its outstanding history of excellence in scholastic journalism. Perri was inspired to write this children's story by actual events that happened to him and his amazing pet parakeet during his childhood. Retired from teaching, Perri now continues his writing career, living in Dearborn with his wife and two dogs. |

Layna Williams is an artist from the Metro-Detroit area. She has studied Photography at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan and is now currently studying Art Education at Michigan State University. She enjoys working in all art mediums. While she's not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, boyfriend, and two cats.
